A new link, "Remote Data". Go there, it explains itself.
The Forum has been redesigned. Basically to freshen up the design; the intent behind it remains the same.
In writings, a couple from myself. Not necessarily related but both leave me wondering.
In Visuals, four from Adrian Ludwig Richter.
Front page image: White Sands, New Mexico - from David Etheridge.
Check out the 'Downloads' link above for the fonts used in Esophy.
In Visuals, one from Tourya Othman.
The 'Acknowledge' page now has links to the websites of current participants. The ARCS likewise for past participants.
One from myself, "Gravity's", in where I receive an answer to some private questions.
In Visuals, one from Howard Pyle. Of note is that this was the last unfinished painting left on his easel when he went off to Italy where he died a year later. Maybe some things are perfect when they are left "unfinished".
Firesong's wonderful images return to the pages of Esophy.
____________
Those who have read Esophy know that my initial intention with respect to material presented here was for it to be new, not having been presented elsewhere. Personally, I plan to continue with the development of this ezine toward a level where new writings and such are standard. But due to what I relate about in 'The Future of Esophy and other Personal Adjectives', I have decided on adding material previously presented elsewhere. The material selected won't be just to fill up the contents list, it will be chosen for its substance and what it contributes even if indirectly to the basic concept of Esophy.
How this mix of past and present material will work out, I do not know. I will let time define it just like I've stated before that in a sense Esophy is defining itself.
For those of you new to Esophy, please read the 'Future of Esophy...' piece as it gives an idea of where I am positioned. The road has been a winding one but not so much Esophy's road as the road that I am walking on with Esophy being one of the many thoughts along the way.
The forum has gone through some changes, paring down here, sprucing up there, and there are also some changes with the registering process; click on the register tab in the forum which goes to a page describing the change. The main change being that you can register to use the forum without having to present something in the ezine as was previously required.
My attitude in general to the forum is that it's there if needed for exchanges of a more immediate sort between whomever. Let me repeat that this forum is not like other forums in that I want the membership numbers to rack up quickly. There's a reason why I've named the forum 'Remote Outposts'. It'a place away from it all where two or more individuals can discuss and ponder subjects from their most basic foundations to their transcendental possibilities. Think of a time when you went with someone on a camping trip or a day trip to the country and while surrounded with the scenery you perhaps discussed what was really important, what fascinates and inspires you. Needless to say, I can't provide you on the Internet with the actual, magnificent settings that nature provides for such conversations so I figure the next best thing is at least a pleasant place for conversations things until your next 'wilderness actuality'. ;-)
Server space? LOL. Oh, you don't have to worry about that. I was recently informed by the hosting service that Esophy, along with the forum, now has 3000 Gigabytes of space. Consider for example that since Esophy started in 2005 till now that the total server space usage clocks in around 125 megabytes. Here, let me show you in terms of acres: If the mentioned accumulated 125 megabytes equals one acre, then Esophy has at the present 24,000 acres to play with. In essence, even if Esophy were to use up 100 gigabytes a year it would take 24 years to use up the space.
I don't even know if I'm going to be in this reality for that long. :-)
Anyway, thank you for visiting and wishing you the best as we continue with our waltz around the sun.
NOTE ON NAVIGATION: On all pages except the Front Page & Main a right-click menu is in effect toward top area of the page. The title on every page also serves as a link if no other link is indicated.
It's been somewhat busy in the world away from the monitor. Mundane things and non-mundane things to deal with. I mention some of it in Current Commentary.
